Water Supply and Water Troughs

Water is available from the water troughs located on the allotments. Each of the troughs has a tap that can isolate the trough in the event that it is overflowing or has a suspected leak. If you notice a leak, please turn off the supply at the tap and notify a member of the committee using the contact us form, alternatively there is an emergency number on the main gates.

From time to time the water supply at Humber Allotments will need to be turned off to prevent frost damage and burst pipes. This is unfortunately unavoidable and has been the policy since the opening of the allotments.

The toilet and wash facilities remain open, but clearly with no mains water, it is asked that the use of the toilets be restricted to a minimum. Please flush the toilet after use using the bucket provided. Please refill the bucket from the water trough on Plot 1.

 

We also ask that the orange buckets provided be used to wash your produce rather than the troughs themselves. This will hopefully reduce the need to clean the troughs so often.
